For the
month of July we are going to work on closets in our homes—all kinds. This will be an awesome month to do some
serious straightening out of some “stuff” you have probably had tucked away for
a long time!
Let’s start this week with
your linen closet. Here is the main goal.
Take your bath towels and sheets and go through each set and decide if
you need to keep it or not. Think
through how many towels or sheet sets you really need and only keep that many
in your closet. (Sometimes we take
comfort in having so many towels and sheets for the “in case” kind of
situation but that can lead to overstocking!)
Once you've determined the specific number that would be appropriate for your
household, keep those sets, and add two extra for the “in case” situation. (I have a feeling there are many of you that probably have towels and
sheets that need to be thrown away or replaced.)
We have a family of four. I have
about 5 or 6 sets (two of the same kind) of bath towels that get rotated often
and then an extra two sets. I also have
a few “not so nice towels” that are mismatched for that mess that may need to
be cleaned up in the near future. I have
recently bought a few new sets to replace some of the towels we had. (That's always nice!) My big goal at that time was to only have the
number of towels that fit comfortably on the shelf dedicated to towels in the
closet. That also helped limit the
number of towels I decided to keep.
Now it's your turn! Post in the comments below so we how you "Took It On" this week!
